Episode 25: Rock In Peace!
Friday May 11, 2012
Friday May 11, 2012
After breaking the streak of 11 straight weeks and 12 new shows, Micah returns from a self-imposed week off, just to see if he could. And, what timing, as this is the 25th episode! Micah remembers the lives of Adam "MCA" Yauch, Levon Helm, and non-musician (but still awesome guy) Maurice Sendak. Then, he gets a couple of bands on the podcast at long last, and includes a new track from an old favorite band. That's all there is to it, really. === SONGS: "Shadrach", Beastie Boys | "Stacked Actors", Foo Fighters | "I Bet You Look Good On the Dancefloor", Arctic Monkeys | "Open Sesame", Kool & the Gang | "Pierre", Carole King | "Do It Anyway", Ben Folds Five | "The Night They Drove Old Dixie Down", The Band

Episode 24: Tears For Tevin! (w/special guest sneaki)
Thursday Apr 26, 2012
Thursday Apr 26, 2012
In this super-sized episode, 8 -- count 'em, eight! -- songs make their first appearance, much to your ears' delight. (The atrocity that opens the show is not included in the count.) Micah is joined once again by the show's favorite -- and, thus far, only -- guest, Steve, aka sneaki. Plans for taking in some Washington Nationals baseball were rained out; it turns out, they conspired with Mother Nature to avoid Micah's ruining of their winning streak. But, the lads continued on, undeterred, to bring you this week's installment of The ONLY Songs That Matter. Plenty of shoptalk takes place; Aaliyah, Az Yet, Ben Folds Five, The Clash, Hall & Oates, Ke$ha, The Prodigy, Simon & Garfunkel, Skrillex, Snoop Dogg, and TLC are all discussed! ... Micah and Steve don't *play* any of their stuff, but they discuss them all. And, that's on top of all the tunes that ARE played and discussed, including one old-school '90s jam that came up completely extemporaneously. Whew. You're guaranteed to get your dancin', snappin', and toe-tappin' on this week. You may have a few hearty laughs as well; Micah and Steve sure did. No, no, you're welcome. We here at #TOSTM live to give. However, if you would like to pay it forward, share the show with your friends, subscribe and review on iTunes, and throw some five-star love our way! === SONGS: "Icarus", Madeon | "I Wanna Be Your Lover", Prince | "Head Over Heels", Tears For Fears | "Shimmer", Fuel | "Can We Talk", Tevin Campbell | "Saltwater", Cat Empire | "So Very Hard To Go", Tower of Power | "Slap My Pitch Up", Sander van Doorn

THIS is the episode of The ONLY Songs That Matter Podcast that you've been waiting for... since Episode 22! This week, "Don't Trust The B-List in Podcast 23!" A title so clever, Micah pushed this episode back a week, just to make it fit. But all that aside, we'll get you dancing with the first tune, and swooning with the last one. Plus, we say a brief goodbye to some musical friends and address a few others things in the Breakdown, and we provide your Token British Song of the Week, per usual. OH, and Micah raps! Kinda. Lest we forget. Share, review, subscribe, etc.! === SONGS: "Kiss On My List", Hall & Oates | "Boogie Nights", Heatwave | "Burden In My Hand", Soundgarden | "The Bad Touch", Bloodhound Gang | "Black Coffee In Bed", Squeeze | "Butterfly", Jason Mraz

We've got more of the same this week on The ONLY Songs That Matter Podcast. Some rock, some electronica, some synthy-pop-type stuff, and some old-fashioned R&B/soul. What more could one want? Whatever it is, you very well may get it next time, so keep listening. Also, if you're from Qatar, *please* let Micah know how you're supposed to pronounce that country. Seriously -- how can one country have multiple pronunciations? Come now. And, if you're from another non-U.S. country, let Micah know! Well, it's the twentieth episode of The ONLY Songs That Matter, and darned if Micah's not going to celebrate. This... is perhaps a good and a bad thing. All the same, in Episode 20, "¡I Wanted Seltzer!" (or, "Tito Viente!"), we get our rock on pretty steadily, plus you get your Token British Song of the Week (at least one...?!?!), an update of a couple of last week's topics in "The Breakdown", and a special musical guest accompanying the entire show! Also, greetings to our listeners in South Korea, Canada, Australia, Thailand, Iraq, and Malaysia! We're still adding to the global reach of the podcast -- now heard in 17 countries, and counting! Episode 19: April Ghouls!
Friday Mar 30, 2012
Friday Mar 30, 2012
This episode is dropping early, and Micah will explain why in "The Breakdown". But yes, this week's theme is songs by dead folks... and what a variety of dead folks we have! And towards the end, Micah may have put together the best song transition in podcast history. Or, maybe not. You be the judge. Tweet Micah @micahwhite, use #TOSTM to join the conversation on Twitter, and don't forget to rate and review the podcast on iTunes! === SONGS: "Got Your Money", ODB f/Kelis | "Would?", Alice In Chains | "Valerie", Mark Ronson f/Amy Winehouse | "A Change Is Gonna Come", Sam Cooke | "Date Rape", Sublime

Episode 18: Double-Oh No He Di'n't!
Saturday Mar 24, 2012
Saturday Mar 24, 2012
This week, Micah gives shout-outs to the podcast's international listeners (they exist!), and to accordions in rock music. Y'know. The usual. He also informs the masses which tune is the best James Bond theme song ever*... so you can focus on other things in life. (*Note: the original theme is not included in this deliberation.) Then, Micah breaks the week down in, well, "The Breakdown". Of course, you get the Token British Song of the week -- despite two other British songs being on the podcast. And, we bring it on home with a quasi-request. Episode 17
Saturday Mar 17, 2012
Saturday Mar 17, 2012
In this episode, Micah poses the week's musical questions, then prematurely plans a 5 millionth iTunes rating/review celebration. Then, after feeling old reminiscing about the 2000 Warped Tour, he goes back even further to 1992. And 1976. We also premiere a new segment, "The Breakdown", in which the week's news is covered. Toss in this week's Token British Song and a closing song as a makegood, and we'll call it a show. Use #TOSTM to join the conversation on Twitter, and don't forget to rate and review the podcast on iTunes! Mwah. === SONGS: "The Impression That I Get", Mighty Mighty Bosstones | "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)", En Vogue | "Good Old-Fashioned Lover Boy", Queen | "Flowing", 311

Episode 16
Sunday Mar 11, 2012
Sunday Mar 11, 2012
In this episode, Micah discusses Crystal Pepsi, black sedans, and friendly strangers (does that one lyric say "Would you hop inside, Micah"?... because that's creepy). Also, the superiority of Twitter, the questionable flammability of rain, and standing by folks... at all or not. And, we're shown how a mashup is REALLY done. Plus, Micah announces that the Podcast can now be found on iTunes! So, SUBSCRIBE at http://itun.es/iPD5t7 (and offer up five stars, if you're so inclined)! === SONGS: "Right Now", Van Halen | "Vehicle", Ides of March | "Something About the Fire", Adele vs. Daft Punk (Carlos Serrano mix) | "Train in Vain", Clash
